Lyn Logan- Grimes

Arts & Community Leader Advocate

Lyn Logan-Grimes currently serves as the Manager of Creative Community
Partnerships and Programs at the Ohio History Connection. In this role she
oversees the Advocates of Diversity Committee as well as develops
programs to illustrate authentic narratives of Ohio’s diverse Communities.
Previously Lyn was the Education and Cultural Arts Director at the King Arts
Complex. Her responsibilities required her to oversee the youth
programming which included the art academies, afterschool film program
and the summer arts camp. In addition, during her tenure at KAC she
developed cultural arts community programs and served as the curator for
the Elijah Pierce gallery.

Prior to the Complex, Lyn’s Museum career began at the Field Museum of
Natural History in Chicago. Shortly after she held positions at the St Louis
Art Museum and Science Center. Once she returned to Columbus, she
served as the Educator for Cultural Diversity at the Columbus Museum of
Art and then later… the Art Coordinator at The Works, Ohio Center for
History, Art and Technology. During this time, Ms. Grimes developed
innovative, educational programs and exhibits that illustrated diverse
themes and topics. Lyn also taught art courses at the Columbus Africentric
School, the Mansion Day School and St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in
Newark Ohio.

Lyn received the Celebration of the Neighborhood, Outstanding Mentor
award and the Sankofa Emerging Leadership award for history and cultural
arts. Ms. Grimes sits on the boards of the All People Arts Gallery, KBK
Foundation and M.O.R.E. Inc. organization. She received her BA degree in
Graphic Design from Central State University and is completing her MA
degree in art education at The Ohio State University.
